I can do it for you or you can do it yourself. Its free and its easy and it is compulsory. Record your details online or if you're not sure, search the pool safety register database. Pool also includes Hot Tubs and Outdoor Spas. 

Are you an owner occupier with a non shared pool? 

If you are not selling or leasing your home you just need to register your pool. Once you have a certificate it is valid for 2 years

Are you selling your home?

Your options are as follows.

Have an inspection and get a Pool Safety Certificate. This way a prospective owner is not up for an unknown cost to get the pool up to conformity and certified. Uncertainty could cost a sale.

You have an inspection and your pool doesn't conform. Once a Non Conformity notice is issued you have 90 days to rectify issues. The notice will outline these issues.

Once rectified I can re-inspect, and assuming all items are rectified, I can supply a Pool Safety Certificate.

If you don’t want to rectify these issues prior to settlement you can notify the buyer that you have a Non-Conformity Notice and negotiate who is to pay for and carry out rectification. If this happens you need to complete a Notice of No Pool Safety Certificate .

You don't have an inspection and you want to sell. You can sell without a Pool Safety Certificate or a Non-Conformity Notice. It will then be the prospective owner’s responsibility to obtain a Pool Safety Certificate within 90 days of settlement. This is a disincentive to a buyer as they will be unsure of the associated costs with complying and getting an inspection.

Are you an owner leasing a property with a non shared pool? Prior to a new lease or a renewal or change of an existing lease you must obtain a Pool Safety Certificate. You are not allowed to lease a property without one. As with Owner Occupier pools, once certified it is valid for 2 years.
